No, you are influenced by coffee time! That's not a clue - it's too far down the alphabet.

                Fair point, well made, Cloughie!!

I'm afraid I can't improve upon it though
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                      the same in each case?
and judging by your reply in #17058, either A or B ? if C is "too far down the alphabet" or am I going in the wrong direction ?
                      D or E ?

I've never been sure if divas are exclusively sopranos. can one be a mezzo diva ?

Right direction, in my book Diva is generic and deserves to be given to any good female singer. This does not include the likes of Celine Dion or Miriah Carey.

so, if I've understood, 3 female (classical or jazz, not pop? ) singers each with a surname beginning with the letter A or B but linked by something beginning with F

                              oh, yes, sorry.
how shall I proceed from here? just pluck some names out of the air for your approval ?
or can you give a very vague or cryptic clue to the F ?

The names are less important than the letter!
