That's rather the problem... I couldn't think of any. All the women I think of as Divas have names beginning with other letters...

...except (let's try mercia's suggestion of running a few names up the flagpole and seeing if Cloughie salutes):

          Kathleen Battle

Angela Giorghiu (or however she spells it)

          ?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I'm still not quite sure what constitutes a diva

Apologies I should have said forenames, but one also has the same letter for surname merc!

                Nice list mercs!

                Arlène Auger
                Barbara Bonney...

But i don't think of either as a diva. Just as damn good sopranos

fair enough. this could take some time. these may not be divas or even singers but they are female forenames beginning with A or B.

Angela, Beryl, Anita, Barbara, Alicia, Alice, Beatrice, Anne, Ann, Aristide, Abigail, Astrid, ........

                  no, that's silly

                    Aristide is a bloke's name isn't it?

Quite enjoying the concept of Beryl de los Angeles
