Britten wrote Six Metamorphoses after Ovid (Op. 49) for solo Oboe in 1951 dedicated to oboist Joy Boughton who gave the first performance at the Aldeburgh Festival on 14 June 1951.

Oooops sorry about the missing Phaeton connection in the last one, mercs - very generous - cloughie would have held out for that

What Q’s creative inspiration was succoured by Knorr, leading to a pot of gold apparently. Q influenced a warlock too but probably not gaily

Apologies in advance ... I'm away from here between noon and 16:30 for a performance of Mahler symphony No 5 by the Royal Academy Orchestra and Semyon Bychkov so we need to get this Q sorted beforehand ideally

Mercs'll murder it, is my guess

Bloody hell!!! *Consults diary to see if lunchtime flit possible*...

Old Semyon may have a face for radio http://blogs.berkeley.edu/wp-content...SBconducts.jpg but he's the real thing with a baton I reckon

EDIT: I see on the RAM site that "All free tickets have now been allocated, but some tickets are expected to become available in the hour before the performance." Have you got yours already, Ams?

You mean you'd have a Phaeton your hands, Ammy
