      Your turn!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I vaguely remember the word bogeyman appearing in a question but can't remember the context - google says Schoenberg once called himself that.
my computer doesn't seem to like the word boughing - does it appear in a poem? otherwise an obscure meaning of hitting metal with a hammer ?

personally I need a clue but others are probably coping without. is "magic" a clue ?
            is R a composer ?

Just an aside to explain why I never contribute to this thread. I can sometimes work out the answers, but were I to do respond correctly, I would be doomed to thinking up a puzzle of my own... and ...

do what I do and chicken out of setting a question - known locally as the mercia side-step [or something]

if you know the answer to the flayversome R please tell [or give me a clue]

R is not a composer. Bough could well be a pun.

It was men who the bogey.....

EA I go weeks without getting anything and my puzzles are generally snaffled up in minutes so have no fear - if you fancy a go, you'd be most welcome

Is this a reference to Colonel Bogey?

Yes, it was mixed in with my R.

The "magic" bit above was an indirect alliterative reference to the person behind the "breakfast" clue

One of the teasing delights of AA is that you can never be sure if Typos, Duplicate Posts etc aren't extra clues!
