No, can't be - she did double glazing, not anthems.

Run out of Parrys now we have

    My great-grandmother was a Parry

The Barmouth Parrys? My family has married into them ............ I thought of Joseph Parry of course but Aberystwyth, although it goes with a swing is not exactly Benny Goodman material .... not is John Parry, Welsh harpist suitable, if it is that Benny of course?

Hmmm. The first part of the word "Aberystwyth" sounds slightly like ABBA, a quartet including a Benny, but how is a motto involved in that?

I will have to consult with the relevant aunt. I only know that my great grandmother was called Mary Parry I suspect it was a North Wales - North East England alliance, as her husband was a Lancastrian and manager of theatres in Salford etc.

My logical systems defeat me here, ferneyhiccough -

Yes, not that piece; < and/or > Yes, not that Parry.

So - to be clear - not Parry [viz Hubert] and not that piece [viz 'Jerusalem']?

Yes, Parry (but also "yes, not that Parry") and not that piece. (Or any by that Parry, as I hope subsequent posts have made clear.)

I'm struggling to find a musical motto to link ABBA and Aberystwyth!! The tune is used for the National Anthems of Tanzania and Zambia (bit of trivia), the Uni motto refers to nothing musical, so I really don't know. Someone must have an idea .......?
