    What kept you!
I'll leave the two of you decide who goes next, and with what letter.

So what was the answer? Fux, Francaix, Hendrix? If so, then Tapiola got 2/3 and should set Y for his sins.

        Thanks a bunch, rubbers!

My reasoning, FWIW, was that Xenakis wrote a stunning orchestral piece "Lichens" - Linnaues studied lichens in depth.

Indeed he did. I didn't like it at first, but it's grown on me

Yes. It seems so, but it was damned diffucult holding the PC up to the mirror to check.

Sorry - I'd assumed that, between you, you'd taken that for the correct answer, which it is, and that it was merely a question of deciding who goes next. It looks like Tapiola's ready to put us all to the test again....

                  Thanks for the clarification Ofca.

I have an easy Y or a slightly more cryptic A.

Unsure of the rules at this point...

The rule clearly states that you give us an easy Y

                      Haha,

I have a strange sense of deja-vu over this one, almost as if I have asked it before. Maybe I have. Nonetheless:

What Y connects a French pianist, a French actor and a French commune?

                        Gosh hercule, that was quick.

You can choose to set A or Z

For us numpties, can we have the full answer as to which Yves?

                              Yves Montand - actor
                              Jean-Yves Tea-for-two - pianist
Yves - Commune of the Charente-Maritime Department

(at least I hope that's the answer)
hercule, thanks for that, guessed it was Montand. Did you know there is a Commune in France which is simply called Y. (This is in pub quiz mode of course and totally irrelevant) in the Somme Picardie Departement. And is twinned with a Welsh village!

I'm a tad conphased now as I thought that all the links needed a musical connotation but I've just been back to Page 1 and it appears I have been under a misapplication. Which is either a good or a bad thing, I guess!
