Excellent mercs - form the Q/R .......I'm a little surprised you haven't heard of Jarrett, IMHO a fine classical pianist as well as a jazz man. Also wonderfully temperamental!

He is indeed! I have CDs of him playing the 24 DSCH preludes and fugues And that Köln concert...

But I'm slow and also watching the Nadal v Djokovich Paris final (Nadal stuttering).... which is the P connection with Mr Jarrett?!

We need a Coleslaw summary I think!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

This is the best value from a reliable purveyor I can see http://www.mdt.co.uk/MDTSite/pages/p...mpaign=Froogle

It's at £15.99 on Sainsbury's (!) Entertainment site but I've had problems with them - stuff not arriving.

Mercia - thank you for the AL summary

A misty-cal Scottish village loses its head in pieces by (among others) Campra and Purcell. Hop to it and get its soggy Handel.

Yes, Rigaudon/Rigadoon a dance conveniently described by the articles Vinty kindly supplied - one involving lots of hops; which, coincidentally, is what it takes to get me dancing!
