Yup - other than that, Northo, you're spot on!

I'm just lulling everybody into a sense of false security before I pounce, like ... a pouncing thing. (Actually, not only do I currently not have the faintest idea what the answer might be, I also have a committee meeting tonight, regarding which somebody rather worryingly asked me whether I could get a late pass from 'er indoors - sounds like a lot of AOB - so I'll leave this to you chaps and chapesses).

I am returned from my snoozle ready to urge y'all on.

Martin Rohde - what nationality is he?

Lulu - was it only Berg who had a stab?

Has anyone had a nickname involving Beethoven?

OK K was born German but took the same citizenship as Martin Rohde

                      - Danish... but

Lulu - was it only Berg who had a stab?

                      - I think so, coz he compiled the libretto from two Wedekind plays

Has anyone had a nickname involving Beethoven?

                      - You mean LvB's name/s... or more indirectly e.g. "Eggy" Egmont... or what about Fernehoughgeliebte...

If that is the only link to Martin Rohde then perhaps we are looking for Friedrich Kuhlau, the "Beethoven of the flute", composer of an opera entitled "Lulu".

Well of course you are, scb - well done

He was much admiring of Beethoven who held him in quite high regard too, apparently. Kuhlau was born in Germany and became a Danish citizen like Martin Rohde in the TV series The Bridge that many of us enjoyed recently.

Over to you, scb for an L

Yay mercs - Paul Auster's directorial debut, it says here.

Not a massive hit, according to Rotten Tomatoes
