I shall stop beating around the bush

in the order of the question Ernest Moeran, Sir Arthur Somervell and Cecil Sharp were all educated at Uppingham School

I promise to set a question, given the thumbs-up

You do, and you clean it up yourself!

Also dead impressed by mercia's laser-like response
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

(I don't think further explanations are necessary, other than perhaps to say that Somervell studied in Berlin between 1883 and 1885. Moeran was born in Middlesex, although his father was Irish and he spent a lot of time at Kenmare).

Rather busy day here and not been able to give this the attention it deserves... I'm going to do an Anna and say that in my mind Brazil + V = Villa Lobos, otherwise not sure but he wrote about nationalistic and geographical things.... but I have to go and finish some stuff before the secretary toodles orff...

UPDATE: quick Wiki leads one to four of his Symphonies:

              No. 3 A Guerra ("The War") (1919)
              No. 4 A Vitória ("The Victory") (1919)
No. 5 A Paz ("The Peace") (1920) now lost
No. 6 Montanhas do Brasil ("The Mountains of Brasil") (1944)

Happy for anyone to take the W assuming that's right. Otherwise will do the honourable thing when next at liberty to do so
