            I have to depart now for a nice client lunch at an Italian restaurant (that is not a clue...). I'll be back during the afternoon, I'll wait a little before giving a clue or two, if requested

                        ... of course, Venice was not the only 'Serenissima' - so too were Lucca, Genoa, and San Marino - and indeed also the Lithuanian Polish Commonwealth [1569-1795]. But I don't think any of this helps...

                                To add a little more help, the "O" is musical, the three constituent parts of the question are not entirely so.
