Indeed, that would be good I think

Is Mr Lat around today to police answers, suggestions, requests for clues etc, I wonder?

For the moment, I have no idea (despite having an aunt who has worshipped "Her Cliffy" since the 60s resulting in my knowing more about him than I ought.... )
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Hello - I am here until 10am and then back at about 11.30am.

Of the three clues, the Cliff Richard one is the most obscure route to the answer. Logically I would go with the Birtwistle and next the San Francisco Opera, or vice versa, but it's up to you of course. I only wish that I could give you a fourth clue.

            Spiffing

Personally, I'm still trying to adjust to the idea that there could be any connection between Sir Cliff and Sir Harrison

(Cliff is one of those fatuous knights they've made up recently, isn't he... Must check!)

It is probably just as well that you asked me about time then.

Who is going to get this? It doesn't look as if anyone will before 10am.

Caliban - Thank you for your PM before we started today. I don't really think you are Nick Mason!

                Will be back later!

                    Indeed. An under-appreciated little gem.

Is that a clue ..... ? I can get a link between Cliff Richard and the SF Opera but not to Birtwistle but it's a bit tenuous and I've an appointment so out now until around 1pm.
(Also, Cliff Richard was born in Lucknow, as was my Uncle George, his one claim to fame he always said!)

Yes. It's the fourth clue that I said I wouldn't be providing!

Who was Nick with - and what's the connection with the others?

OK you luvverly people. Time to virtually give you the answer. Nick Mason was in Pink Floyd.

So the question becomes - What Q connects Cliff Richard, Harrison Birtwistle, the San Francisco Opera and Pink Floyd?

And the fact that the question has been extended in that way should be a clue in itself.

so now we have a quartet of clues

was Sir Cliff a member of the Amadeus ?
