Were you actually talking about "the Swedish Mozart" or my 3rd clue, cloughie? The former answer is a simple google away.

No I was adding an s to try to solve the third clue - I assumed you'd already written off Joseph Martin.

No he wasn't written off, although like Mozart he did die young.

Joseph Martin Kraus (20 June 1756 – 15 December 1792) a composer born in Miltenberg am Main, Germany. He moved to Sweden at 21 and died at the age of 36 in Stockholm. He is sometimes referred to as "the Swedish Mozart." His life span was very similar to that of Mozart's.
So let's have another Krauss please

I'll go down to the river and pray that it's Alison - the beauty of her voice knocks spots off many an opera singer. Have I Plant(ed) the correct answer?

So you have, cloughie! She does have a beautiful voice (although no doubt it would be lost without amplification). Her singing with Mr Plant of Led Zep is curious to say the least...

                        Coleslaw:

Lili Kraus the charming pianist who was interned by the Japanese in Indonesia during the war
The aforesaid composer Joseph Martin Kraus.
And the lovely blue grass singer Alison Krauss, who was born to be forty...

                            Yes, I can wait.

I had intended to add some Alison Krauss links - perhaps contrasting her appearance for videos of the song hinted at above ("When You Say Nothing At All") from the 1990s and more recently (what a difference a haircut and colour makes, as well as perhaps shedding a few pounds). But I don't know what's gone wrong with my internet. I can get on this forum, but none of the links to youtube etc work, and I can't get onto Google, youtube, the BBC - in fact I can only get this forum and Yahoo mail. I've tried re-starting the modem and computer.

How strange. Maybe it's a more generalised problem.

Maybe that's my problem too. They've been doing some upgrading recently, although I had thought it was completed by now.
