    Amen!

Are you sure we are not dealing with something fugitive from the opera?

I'm not an expert on Massenet but I don't think so but it does have an alternative title.

            Crumbs... never heard of him.

Come on then: is Olivier: Messiaen.... Visions de l'Amen?

And Jules: Massenet: Vision Fugitive (which seems to be from the opera Anna mentioned...)

And Harry: is there a Vision of some sort in Birtwistle's works somewhere - they're all sort of mythic etc... ?

Well, that might be Visions, short piano pieces written by Russian composer, Sergei Prokofiev
But it gets us no nearer to Harry.
And, the above does not fit into the clues does it?

Visions yes, the Messiaen yes, the Massenet but not Fugitives - Harry -the real name of a well known pop singer.

                    Cliff Richard's "Vision"

That must be a record for solving a cloughie conundrum! I vote for an Anna W

Great team effort!! Yes Anna cracked it with Visionary brilliance.

I do however have a little W up my sleeve if we want things to move on between now and "sometime tomorrow" ...

But damn it, we don't have the right Massenet piece yet...

There's "Ah, Dispar, Vision!" from his Manon.....

He may not be as popular, universally liked or played on Radio 1 but he's still well known by AA boarders most of whom are not Young Ones but I'll Move It on!

                            Was the Dispar Vision correct?

This was the Massenet I was after, but I admit to relying purely on googling and have no direct knowledge of the piece.

Shall I save Anna the bother, and produce my W?

Anna if you were desperate to set it, I'll donate a letter on request in future (if I ever solve a puzzle )

So a W svp to link firsts for Palestrina, a Yank in a European capital, and a tantalising Tenth...
