An R whose career featured tragically old-fashioned elements, ironically.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Do I need a classical education for this or will secondary modern get me close enough?

Classical music awareness will be sufficient. You in particular are aware of this R, I know for a fact

                    Ah.

You have posted the answer twice in the last 24 hours, and not for the first time this week....

I'm sure you'll find an opening before long...

Rameau is indeed irrelevant, as are his shoes...
