        Aye lad!!

So: Alan Rawsthorne - Clifford Curzon played his Piano Concerto No 2 a lot, and he wrote pieces on a theme by C Lambert Esq, and to commemorate the Hallé's 100th...

True... So is Casa Gould looking and sounding festive, then, thanks to Her Ladyship and Mr P Como? Presumably Lady G wasn't dressing a real tree this evening - it wouldn't last would it? I always get a real one from the florists' stall on the corner, they have great ones and are worth supporting - but it can't come in more than a week or so before Xmas day if it's to look anything like respectable by New Year...

Very festive but very artificial I admire you traditionalism.

It must await the morrow. I have high hopes of Hercule Mercia QC's submissions at the early assizes!

He seems to be missing and I note he is not doing EC this week probably on holiday......

Mrs Alexander wrote a large number of hymns, so presumably Sir Arthur wrote the music for one or more of them? A quick glance at her titles and his doesn't immediately suggest a match though!

Edit: there's a hymn called He Is Coming by the two of them. Don't know it though.

Mrs Alexander was married to probably the most famous Alexander of all and this morning SMP played a clue....
