Nor Handel, Lasagne (beef casserole tonight!) or any '80s groups.
    Rule Britannia might help ...
I am just, so, so, absolutely going to regret this, I really know. And will appear foolish.
But, does Dido come into it?
Notwithstanding yea nor nay, I have to go in a mo (as referenced above, real time cookery!)

As in "Orpheus Britannicus"? Not foolish at all. But not right, either!

Shame, I had found a link with Beckett's Nacht und Träume which originated from Beckett’s fascination with Albrecht DĂ¼rer’s etching of praying hands.

          Then via DĂ¼rer's engraving "Melencolia I" http://www.citizenarcane.com/index.p...-melancolia-1/
Melencolia is an anagram of limen caelo = gateway of heaven.

I was getting somewhere.... but nowhere
          Pacta sunt servanda !!!

No; not "nowhere" (I didn't know the Durer connection !!!) - find a composer often associated with Beckett's work who's written a Nacht und Träume and you're practically there!

Hmm; Wiki is useless here. Stick with Rule Britannia: it'll give you a good start.

Presumably Schubert (is there another?) - but as you say, Wiki got me nowhere.

Anyway, does Limen refer to the ballet?

                    Yes.

No; but some petals by the composer of the ballet is a connection (but sadly not one that Wiki will help you with). I really would start with Rule Britannia!
