Not getting the puzzle designed to perplex and confuse is one thing

Not getting the helpful clues is downright discouraging

And making disobliging pictorial allusions to ladies' headgear can be positively fatal... !

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Sorry, ams; I didn't notice this overlap.

Ignore Thompson and try googling "arne, nacht und traume".

Ooooh cheers ferney - it says " Nacht und Traume for cello, piano and electronics 2008
Commissioned by Festival Transit Leuven and Concertgebouw Brugge for Arne Deforce and Yutaka Oya"

            Does that help?

Lots of cross posting! Sounds like Ammy's on to it!

Bugger, I thought we were looking for an "A" and that Arne was the answer.

                  I'm losing it...

It's this Arne Deforce character innit - did Jonathan Harvey write Limen for him? Not clear from wiki

Arne Deforce has also recorded Charisma (1971) pour clarinette et violoncelle by Xenakis

Easy when you know the answer isn't it!

                              The coleslaw:

'cellist Arne Deforce who gave the first performances of Richard Barrett's Nacht und Träume (after Beckett after Schubert), recorded Xenakis' Charisma on the AEON label, and composed Limen for solo 'cello (recorded with Jonathan Harvey's two works for solo 'cello & electronics).

Flay and Anna mentioned in dispatches, medicinal assistance recommended for Cali and the E to ammie with this round of applause:

I attended the UK premiere of the Barrett at that little Festival they hold around these parts every November: fragments of the Schubert warp and weft around electronic scrapings and wailings - the sort of thing that would make Simon spit feathers: just one of the many things it has going for it!
