Have collapsed upon the sofa after achieving a number of things

Is the answer Istanbul as in Istanbul Oriental Ensemble, for which all four gentlemen seem to have played, Mr Öçal having founded it, or at least he directs it?

A fun song by the Four Lads recorded to a 78 rpm record. Enjoy!

        - not so much a sofa as a divan?

BUT - only the last two Musicians are in that ensemble; the first two are in another, the name of which the Four Lads will get you to.

Not yet There may be a siesta lata!

But it seems that Istanbul isn't the answer... though your 'Four Lads' reference (had I discovered it) would have redoubled my convictions (very uncomfortable in the wrong trousers... ).

Yes, Istanbul is the correct answer (you don't get out of setting the J that easily!) - but Burhan Ocal and Ferdi Nadaz are in another Turkish Music ensemble with a related name. Something changed at 7:30pm.

              I see!

              Here they are:

              What's the 7.30 reference?

                  Spot-on, smarty pants

                  Wiki:

With the Turkish Postal Service Law of March 28, 1930, the Turkish authorities officially requested foreigners to cease referring to the city with their traditional non-Turkish names (such as Constantinople, Tsarigrad, etc.) and to adopt Istanbul as the sole name also in their own languages. Letters or packages sent to "Constantinople" instead of "Istanbul" were no longer delivered by Turkey's PTT, which contributed to the eventual worldwide adoption of the new name.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

A feeble one: Constantinople was renamed in ... 1930.

... the Jollity continues from Cali!

                    Coleslaw:

                    Istanbul;
The Tabassian brothers are members of the Constatinople Ensemble,
which The Four Lads reminded us (with a little help from Puttin' On the Ritz!) changed its name to Istanbul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YPnXBWl9Tk
and Burhan Ocal and Ferdi Nadaz are members of the Istanbul Oriental Ensemble.

Had I thought about it at the time, I would've put Tippett's Byzantiuminto the mix!
