No takers? Everyone in even more seasonal mood than this question, maybe
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Plural... is that intentional, or an unforgivable grammatical error?

Intentional, multiple farmworkers are involved so they would need an opticians' practice staffed by more than one optician.

Get dry and keep warm, never mind about grammatical nit-picking

Yes. Not necessarily in England though.

                  I was thinking more of:
                  While shepherds watched
                  Their flocks by night
                  All seated round the pot
A piece of soot came tumbling down
                  And spoiled the bloomin' lot.

...and there is a pot og fold at the end of the rainbow isn't there? OK so P is not pot!

                    Brilliant, Calibs!

Yes. Not necessarily in England though.
I'm wondering if it could be Pastor, but I'm not sure yet...

It is, partly - but that's not the P you're after, though it will lead you (shepherd-like) to it...

                      Keep going!

You need a different two letters (i.e. not "-al") after "Pastor"... and remember I said they weren't necessarily English shepherds...
