let's not be too pedantic. How many keys do bagpipes play in anyway?

Who'd care to Eclipse this with an E?

It would be interesting to see the catch of the Kingfisher hereabouts.

Now you see, why can't I think laterally like that? I'm too literal...

Not that it was right... ... just a much better idea than any I'd had!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Yes, I can't think that way either.

How about setting us an E, Pechy?

Sorry, I've been away while Daughter #2 instals Sims3 on my pooter (hers not having enough memory, rather like me)! Will give 'E' some thought...

I want an E that connects a Chinese flute, a Carnival of Venice, and Baa baa black sheep!

Has it anything to do with Hal Leonard?

cloughie: if it does I don't know what it is!

My E is a personal name, not precisely an English one...

Gosh, there's a lot in there to look at. Jean-Baptiste Arban, Herbert L. Clarke (who?), Paganini, David Wallis Reeves etc. But no Es yet....

None of these I'm afraid but one of my Es links to a Carnival for violin and piano.

Nothing stirring yet?? 'Baa baa black sheep' links to the best-known work of the three - lots of recordings, but not so many in the digital era as on LP perhaps.

ag - you have the coconut! Now can you spell out the three 'clues'?

(There wouldn't have been a coconut if you'd said Erno though)
