      Ahem, naturally... A "Mainwaring" moment...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Crikey, just back from a rather splendid Burns' Night rehearsal, slightly twizzled

          H'okey ....

What three Js wrote music about a bullfighter, a pretend physician and a film score about a sword including crumhorn, recorder, and a double-flageolet

What do you rehearse? Were you practising drinking the malts? Do you start with a wee dram and work up to the full bottle?

Perhaps it was the chef who was rehearsing, and ammy a selfless and obliging culinary guinea pig?

Did you go all Welsh in your cups?

Are we keeping up with the Joneses?

Trevor Jones wrote the score for 'Excalibur'

Tom Jones sings on 'The Matador'...

.. ah, but he didn't write it... damn..

                Still, I'm sticking with Trevor!

                Have to think on...

...an added Jones to this would be David who wrote songs for this - David being Bowie who started off as Jones.

Wrote songs for which - the Matador?

Oddly enough, I met Mrs Jones, his mum... went to her flat, indeed. Long story.

No I meant 'Excalibur' but on closer googling I was misled - he actually wrote songs for another film 'Labyrinth' for which Trevor had done the music!

Seems like Ammy is still sleeping off his "rehearsal"...

Oh we had cullen skink, haggis neeps & tatties, and crannachan with raspeberries.

There were many & various malts, an ancient Laphraoig, a Penderyn from sherry casks, a Bowmore, an Aberlour etc etc. Plus a goodly quatity of red wine mostly from the Rhone.
