Hmm. Didn't somebody carry her home in "two carrier bags" through the Streets of London, according to Mr McTell?

Ah! Only yesterday, waiting at the red lights a block or two south of there, I was gazing balefully at the ghastly 60/70s block that's on the site of the Queen's Hall, and imagining who had played in there, and strolled across the road to the Hotel... Rachmaninov, Elgar...

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

oh very good FHG, I would never have got that

just found out that a version of VW's London Symphony had a premiere at Queen's Hall and a second performance in Harrogate under Julian Clifford

Correct and that leaves us with a disputed number of symphonies from a symphonist.....

The clue that rendered futile my feverish googling last night!

                          thinking aloud

I'm sure we're not talking about Haydn with this disputed number of symphonies

EDIT - sudden thought, could it be the London Bach ?

                          no

Wiki says J C wrote 91 symphonies but feels on 43 Grove is Baching up the wrong tree.

M' not sure if FHG or mercs has the M?
