Better than Stamitz, not as good as Mozart, IMO - not that either feature is exactly difficult! (And, actually, I only know some of the Symphonies - his Half Ramide and Tito might be delightful.)

      Next?

An N to connect Gerald and Gustav with Idomeneo.

The sort of name that's slightly easier to pronounce after three sherbets and a couple of scoops

        Totally bravo, ferney!

            It's a last piece, if that's any help ...

Ah I was wondering about Nikolaus or Nicolai just now, might it be Nicholas (Cook) then?

As one who "completed" Mahler's 10th?

No; no Nicks involved at all.

                    Yes.

I'm also wondering which "Gerald" people are considering ...

composer or performer (or neither) ?

perhaps Gustav is a performer too

Holst's last work seems to be a rather obscure choral work

Not quite what I said at the top of the page ...

a last piece in a collection of pieces by Holst - as opposed to the last thing that he wrote

N-n-n-neptune is the last of you-know-what [for example]

Plain sailing from now on, I think.

The wonders of wiki reveal a Gerald Tyrwhitt-Wilson, 14th Baron Berners ("composer, novelist, painter and aesthete" ) wrote a Neptune suite.

A bit more victorious than that, though. (Stravinsky's favourite British composer of the 20th Century, by the way!)
