    As all is silence I think we Jet off to J......is it Cloughie or Rumpole?

    Inghelbrecht was "suspended for refusing to conduct La Marseillaise under German occupation, he laid down his baton till war was over"

      Thought it must be something to do with that - I thought he'd just refused to conduct the orchestra to the occupying forces, but couldn't find specific ref to LM! I'll think up a J dreckly.

                      Neither, but as an aside wouldn't it have been great to link Frank Sinatra to Franck's Sonata - probably the nearest was Billy May's big band arrangement of a movement from the Symphony

                                I was only hoping it was wrong because I didn't want to set a question - but I'm sure someone can fill in all the missing elements
