Kirkwall: St Magnus, Martyrdom of (opera by Maxwell Davis)

Gabriele: d'Annunzio, collaborated with Debussy on Le martyre de St Sébastien

Millman: [I'll get back to you.......]

....Ah ha! A little-known Gilbert and Sullivan, forsooth!! The Martyr of Antioch based on the 1822 epic poem by Henry Hart Milman (the Dean of St. Paul's) concerning the martyrdom of St. Margaret of Antioch in the 3rd century (thank you Wikipedia)

Good puzzle mercs, I'll go to bed less stupid (or at least, feeling so...)
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Some seasonal festivity appears to be detaining mercs, and I shall be offline for a bit too

Would it be presumptuous to offer an N?

For example, one linking Cremona with Don Giovanni and the Blue Danube ... ?

... so talk amongst yourselves and I'll return to consider lucidly any suggestions for the above N puzzle!

              Been somewhere nice?

Glad that my festive frolicking this evening did not lead to any delay in dealing with the flood of responses to my puzzle!

Certainly a person... No idea about Purcellian proclivities!

                      Ah yes....

Remunerative work I hope, not simply labouring under the yoke of Lady Gould?

Latish dinner where I am at the moment so a bit more palatable :

Nyman amongst other works : In Re Giovanni, The Otherwise Very Beautiful Blue Danube Waltz.
I think he one a prize from Cremona but there is also a film for which he did the music ( and also appears in?) "I'll stake my Cremona to a Jew's Trump"

Now, perhaps someone would like to hunt down this O to link natives of Tokyo, Montreal and Baltimore.
