You must have said Ram for a reason.

The more I think about it , it isn't one of my better questions.

It's not very tight but the full answer just about works.

And I'm off to the USA so might not be able to associate for a while. I'll be fascinated to see the answer to this one!

But you won't get a prize unless there is something to support it!!

It looks as if I am going to have to provide the reasoning and set a question for S.

OK. The first syllable of the first name of the first individual - a composer - is an "A" which is indefinite because it is an indefinite article. The second syllable is "ram" and the individual is Aram Khachaturian. The first syllable of the second name of the second individual is "Ram". It links to the liquid that is water - "eau". That individual is J-P Rameau. The fourth name of the third individual - a Radio 3 presenter - is Derham. Hence "ram" is in the sound but not the appearance. That person is commonly known as Katy Derham.

As for the clue, Paul McCartney released an album called "Ram" in 1971.

                  My turn.

                  S.

You gave in too soon, Lat, I knew the Ram but the Rob was an attempt to get the R3 presenter.

Put the S up for grabs and see what takers there are!

I'm totally nonplussed cloughie in terms of how you came up with "ram" seemingly out of thin air and actually I find it hard to believe.

Perhaps it was in the McCartney clue but it is all very, very mysterious. You can now set one for S if you wish from the Twilight Zone.

''Twas indeed the Macca and the only thing I could think of with an R but I would not have got the rest without much prompting.
