What O links a composer who instigated the first performance of one of RVW's most famous works and
A composer who had a score augmented by Maxwell Davies for the big screen and
            The Bodyline Series?

well Bert Oldfield was a wicketkeeper injured during the Bodyline Series
I'm guessing Mike Oldfield might be the PMD link though I can't find any info.
can't seem to find an Oldfield/RVW connection anywhere
perhaps not Oldfield. Oval, O'Brien, Old Trafford.

Sadly no the names do not start with O the connection, hopefully, does!

a-ha, I think I may be after graduates of Oriel College, Oxford

well, well, well - Philip Napier Miles instigated the premiere of The Lark Ascending in a violin/piano reduction

and Pelham/Plum Warner was the tour manager for the Bodyline Series

You are a Master, if not of Oriel, of the friendly puzzle. Well done I will abstain from the P puns!

probably wise, they have been fairly comprehensively tried and tested
at this rate we are going to finish the alphabet on our own

It would seem that way can we not get a message circulated that the sheep are long gone?
