and Rossini's last opera was William Tell
Oh, how spooky. If I posted the Z answer, my A would also have been Apple and one of my clues would have been:

It ain't a Big Mac (geddit, No, it's an Apple Mac!!) Sorry, great minds and all.

        Let's be slightly pedantic:

.... and your word is .....

        Apple Pie are ....

Would have been good to work the Piranha Brothers in too, but there's a limit.

Looks like you're going to claim the B - well done.

                Barcarole?

                HMS Pinafore?

If you arrived in Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, Caliban, you will have found the city bathed in golden sunshine and witnessed an excellent sunset over the sea. I hope you enjoy your visit.

I am afraid that I cannot get too involved in the puzzles for the time-being. Life is full of comings and goings without the time to settle for very long. However, all the best to everyone.

Tonight is so right for love (G I Blues) uses a barcarole tune - maybe from Offenbach, perhaps indirectly.

Sir joseph Porter - also apparently a barcarole in HMS Pinafore

June - Tchaikosky Seasons - similarly

Indeed, B = Barcarolles, well done Dave - I suddenly thought it might be an impossible question
HMS Pinafore, Tchaikovsky's The Seasons, Offenbach / Tonight is so right for love
since you've gone to so much trouble, the last one is the Barcarolla from Bartok's Out of doors piano set

                        Dave's turn again, with C

Sorry - I didn't mean to miss one out. I didn't get the Bartok.

Oh well - here goes with C

                          Bambi
                          Trust?
A dance comes before, then something serious
                          Won't you dance?

Like Mercia trying to find a way in - other than Frank Churchill wrote the score for Bambi and committed suicide at the piano I am lost!
