We are indeed. I listed the last resting places of three composers all of whom were born in Dublin.
I'm not sure who gets to set the next question, as mercia did quite a lot of work but others made valuable contributions.

Ain't it odd, the way our minds work? For Kensal Green Cemetery buried I had Decimus Burton (architect) and he did something re Phoenix Park, Dublin, although not born there, and there is, I think, a Decimus Quartet (Qunintet?) I did not persue it further. Thank The Lord. All good fun, this thread.

was it Dublin then? ah, I see.
I wonder if Field spoke Russian with a Dublin accent

opus 111, opus 144 and opus 39 no. 5 (not to mention Book 1 no. 8)

indeed - sort of - or Russian

don't want to mislead people. my E is not Etude, though one of the works is one ........... if you follow me

apologies chaps, just realised how misleading my question is

we're thinking keys, not titles of works as the connection

four works in the same key. what is the key? what are the works?

All very 'googleable'! I'll leave it to others to look up, and provide, the (mainly Russian ) answer.

Prokofiev Symphony No 6 in E flat minor, Op 111
                        La nuit, Op.114 - Camille Saint-Saëns in E flat
Rachmaninov Études-tableaux op 39 in No. 5 in E-flat minor

I hope I am wrong because I only have a "G" prepared, and Mrs Flay expects me to be busy in other ways this evening

                          E flat minor
                          Prokofiev
                          Rachmaninov

the Saint-Saens doesn't quite fit the (minor) bill

can anyone find an opus 144 in E flat minor?
presumably we all know what Book 1 number 8 in E flat minor is.

Flay doesn't want to set an F question so I don't know what we do now (if anything)
and presumably he has to get the F answer so he can set his G question

Interesting I wouldn't have done it that way, but then I don't conduct!

quite so, opus 144 rather than 114 which is where Flay perhaps went wrong.
Book 1 no. 8 is of course Bach Well-Tempered (Prelude not Fugue)

                                what do we do now?
