    And now, this is how things stood: Anna was sitting on one branch, Caliban on another, not too close to Anna.
    And Flay walked round and round the tree, looking at them with hungry eyes.

    "So, they both got the pies without even meaning to," thought Flay. "Well, they won't get the rest without a fight."

      Flay, I honestly don't have a clue as to the answer, I can't think of any Pies (oh, did Caliban's dinner last night feature pies in any shape or form - care to share the menu?)

      I'm away now, got a date with a Welsh Wizard - it's Shane Williams' last game for Wales, but I expect someone can throw some light on the answer.

        No pies, Anna... lacklustre, mass produced "seasonal fayre" I'm afraid, industrial turkey and a soggy cheesecake Then the disco started. And I left.

        Have fun with your wizard, watch out for his wand

        I have no idea so far about what appear to be three musical pies... The only one I know is Howells's song collection "Peacock Pie" but that doesn't appear to fit any of the clues :erm

        I'm stumped, I'm afraid.
        "...the isle is full of noises,
        Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
        Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

          It sounds like it was fairly awful, Caliban. We had a similar event a week ago. Fortunately the drink was good

          As to clues: the middle two pies are pop songs late 60s early 70s.

          And how did Anna unwittingly get Pie Jesu from the first?

                As to Pie Jesu, an urbane connection?

                    urbane = courteous, polite
                    I don't think Pie translates as urbane does it?

                          You're just about there, Mercia - a sweet pie affecting my mental health? Pop song? Late 60s. Come on now, got to hurry you...
