In the novels, yes. But he's killed off by the "dragon" in the film of Dr No, so a "one-off" there.

        am I holding things up?

In 1890 Gilbert & Sullivan had a bit of a falling-out over the expense of a new carpet at the Savoy Theatre, which wikipedia has deemed to call "The Carpet Quarrel". They only collaborated twice more, then parted company.

        R to Calorgas.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Cor! I hadn't noticed that ticking close... ! Cheers all.... it's been fun !

I'll start my fourth 1000 with:

What R links a mate of our urbane friend from recent posts, a mural creator, and a married character who had a soft spot for a shepherd?

Rumpole was married to She Who Must Be Obeyed and had rather more than a soft spot for the "old sheep of the Lake Distrct"!

I guess Raphael did the odd mural, but I can't find any Urbain-friendly Raphaels
