They might be productive: let's hear them.

Apologies: I have to go out and be nice to people for an hour or so. Flay is almost there on the - aham - current teaser.

It was SCB who said << I can find a link between Steve Reich and Walt Whitman, but I cannot link it to Stockhausen. >>

so I cannot claim any merit.

Walt Whitman wrote "I Sing the Body Electric"

I find a reference to Charlie Schmid and his percussion ensemble 'I Sing The Body Electric' performing Steve Reich's 'Drumming'.

But lost about Stockhausen - he did much that was electric, I'm sure.

Steve Reich Electric Counterpoint is what I think the question alluded to. I still cannot find anything to link Stockhausen to "electric" as distinct from "electronic".

                    Wow! I didn't know this! (I wish I had.)

If you follow the "synonyms" route ("corpse" = "body") you'll encounter synonyms for "room(s)" and "polyphony" that will be useful.

Ah! ... erm ... if it were "electronic" ... ?

Are we looking at "Studio für Elektronische Musik" where Stockhausen worked at one time? Or at the Elektronische Studien which he composed at that time?

Either will fit, SCB, but I was thinking (not very carefully!) of the two Elektronische Studien. Bravo!

                          So:

                          the link is Electr[on]ic:
                          Karlheinz Stockhausen's Studies
Walt Whitman's I Sing the Body Electric
                          Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint

                          ... back to you, methinks?

                            Slightly more obscure than usual:

What F is related to Verdi, Haydn, Schubert, Weber, Rossini and Elgar?

Goshdarnit!! I had a few minutes this afternoon and was toying with "Electric" but fixated on Walt Disney so it didn't fit. Whitman, Whitman, Whitman you fool Caliban!!

                              Nice one!
