You can prove anything with Google :

Former KGB secret agent Natasha Romanova, known as the Black Widow,

participated on the plan to for attacks by the terrible Weapon X.

[Ref: Tales of Suspense, Number 52]

Well, not quite, as the weapon was not bereaved, but it shows the principle.

Terror here = The French Revolution?

No. The clue was "terrible", not "terror".

I'm wondering if the 'modest' in the clue refers to Mussorgsky?

Well, it was only an initial thought - I hadn't gone further than that and have to go offline now. So I'll let others follow the thought.

From what other have suggested, I didn't think Anna did 'modest'?

Poor Anna, it must be terrible having all these men hounding after you (I wouldn't dream of doing that ). Your situation reminds me of the film There's Something about Mary http://cdn0.hark.com/images/000/002/...1/original.jpg where everyone is competing for the same foxy lady.
But Anna, you're far hotter than Cameron Diaz

I too was modestly thinking of Mussorgsky. Look up his Songs and Dances of Death. They make Mahler's Kindertotenlieder look like nursery rhymes! Maybe X is in there?

That's interesting about those songs: -

<< Dmitri Shostakovich orchestrated the whole cycle in 1962 for the dedicatee, soprano Galina Vishnevskaya. Seven years later, noting that he wanted to continue Mussorgsky's "too short" set of songs, he wrote his Fourteenth Symphony for soprano, bass and chamber orchestra, adding to the musical gallery of death's appearances. The Shostakovich orchestration had a substantial influence on many of his later works, and has since been adapted for bass and baritone voices.>>

Maybe it wasn't Godunov because parts were X-rated by the state censors?
