Well, Brian Sewell was born 15 July 1931; Peter Warlock died 17 December 1930 [aged 36] - so not impossible

The last few pages are hilarious

Congrats to Flay for providing the vehicle for such amusement Truly pleasurable things for the weekend.

Struggling to focus on finding the answer though

And would someone please explain all this Sewell-Warlock stuff!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I did, ages ago. Brian Sewell is the love child of Peter Warlock, conceived two months before Warlock died.

Yes, it appears so. Sewell's Ma and young Brian lived with Warlock's Ma (his (Warlock's) given name is Heseltine of course, Welsh, Montgomeryshire, not sure if Michael Heseltine is involved!) for some years before being booted out with an annuity as Warlock Ma had to care for legitimate Warlock child.

Edit: But I am further foward with Flay's puzzle!

Well, I now do find there is Leoš Janáček String Quartet No. 2, "Intimate Letters" Could that be it? Of course, I have quite forgot what the question is!

Is it Tuesday already, and are we in Belgium?

If it is Janacek, then one of the the others is Cunning little Vixen I think. Crime of Passion could be Jenufa. I really am offline now. I

well done Anna! 2 out of 3

The crime of passion might just relate to another work similar to the 2nd quartet
