        Yes I always use the three digit 'ALT' codes. I have no idea why there are two options for most accents.

          Depends on what side of the river you were born! That matters quite a lot, when it comes to Offas's Dyke.

            Why don't you simply hold down the "Alt Gr" key while pressing your vowel á é í ó ú?

            Mind you I find "Alt" 171 useful at work = ½. Then there's 13 = ♪ and 14 = ♫
