We all clutch the odd straw - the only other I can come up with is Russell Garcia - no Wagner link there either, Kenton link - maybe he didn't like Kenton's bongos on the Ride of the Valkyries.

          2 A composer

          3 A musical software manufacturer

As for Caliban LCJ, ammy, he was listening to Building a Library and then making arrangements to sort out the inundation issues of yesterday The bathroom is as a result of said inundation hors de combat, alas, so the Owen Brannigan CD and Lily of the Valley salts are on the shelf... I heard OB sing Noye in a production of 'Noye's Fludde' when I was a nipper - and my Agèd P was playing God .. not for the first or last time...
            Glad to hear it, Caliban

Nice one, cloughie - do you know the story behind the origins of that song?

                      Sorry, no big grin sceario!

                      Il n'est pas Sibelius.

Conductor and Composer two different guys and neither are Sibelius.

(By the way did you hear Berglund's Sib 5 finale on breakfast this morning, good, but if at 8.25 they'd put the whole symphony on it would have started my day champion!)

Well that's a blow and no mistake

A snag of your rather minimalist approach to clues, cloughie - the leading on of the innocent

I love that movement, especially in the recording by a relatively young Simon Rattle with the Philharmonia - champion indeed!

At least I restrict my minimalism to clues and not my musical preferences!
