Sorry, lacking inspiration here - and it's time to settle down in front of t'telly for the England-Wales game.

I can't get near this. Time for a clue of the "bleedin' obvious" variety, I think, ferney!

PS cross posting! Ferney: we're just SO on the same wavelength!!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Well, we're almost there: The "Connection" is Bartolomeo/Bartholemew.
Eric Bartholomew (the birth name of Mr Morrey-Camby)
Bartolomeo Cristoferi, whose invention "Harp-Harpsichord with Soft and Strong" became widely known as the Piano, and has had a very very long life.

... so if somebody would care to google "Bartolomeo" and "practical Music" ... ?

I'll leave it someone else - I'm only on a teabreak from my greenhouse chores.

That gives me. Bartolomé Ramos de Pareja (I am merely seeking refuge from the rugby which is seriously raising my blood pressure and threatening my fingernails)

I think mercia's done enough to be asked to set the next question.
The Genius of the Electric Guitar/ Charlie Christian(1916-1942)
