Schubert's opus 148 is an N but I think irrelevant

is it a Canterbury-born/educated composer or performer cloughie?

Delius is an excellent lead for one clue - think of one of his orchestral works. It's none of the songs that Sam sung and nothing to do with the vehicles Cali uses his bus pass on! A shame that nobody wrote a Bradford Symphony, has a certain ring to it - there is a certain reluctance to use British place names in music of all genres.

Oh, don't tell me, the aforementioned rock band are called N148!! How come, cloughie, you in remote Cornwall actually follow obscure rock bands?

A number of years to go yet... ...

I do swipe my Oyster card once in a while, as the 148/N148 does in fact stop at my road end...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

BWV 148 is "Bringet dem Herrn Ehre seines Namens" ("Give unto the Lord the Glory due unto His Name").
                Not that this helps.
Just wanted to share with you...

I found that out too, but when I was looking it up was suffering from the temporary delusion that we are hunting for a K here, so dismissed it...

I definitely need some fresh air and a coffee. Back later.

There's no N and 148 is not a rock band. There's nothing wrong with a good rock band within the rich panoply of music, or even the rich piano play! By the way gang these are not clues just idle chit chat! An interesting thing on iplay just now tried to listen to Kubelik's Merry Wives of Windsor Ov from last Thursday'e EC and found Elder's Froissart instead!
