Minor as my contribution was, I do have an 'M' to hand should it be needed.

An 'M' to link: An AOC, an art gallery and (for example) Louis XIV.

does AOC stand for air officer commanding ? do people have those letters after their name ?

                Louis XIV was a monarch

a particular art gallery in this country ?

Yes, AOC as in a designated wine area. Louis XIV, or any other male monarch of that time, should also help you. The art gallery is one of the most famous in the world.

                    at random, the Uffizi ?

just discovered that Milhaud wrote an opera Saint Louis, roi de France, but that's only just relevant

I can't get anywhere. I can't see an M link with male monarchs, nor wines. Floundering.

                      Musée d'Orsay?

The 'M' are performers. #26004 includes the modern spelling of a word in one of the ensembles concerned.
