    Panoramas

To start the ball rolling, here's a panoramic photo of Ullswater, taken from Hallin Fell last year.

It's amazing what people can create isn't it ? A landscape like this made from dense forest

Does anyone remember those panoramic school photos where some bright spark usually managed to run round the back and appear twice? Has anyone got one?

Well we didn't dare - too many teachers around.

I do have one (or possibly two). No-one running round the back, though. Apparently it had happened in the past, the headmaster was extremely put out, and we were all warned accordingly.

I'm just going off-line for a walk on Filey Brigg.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I thought this was going to be a thread about a certain programme regularly on BBC 1.

A glimpse into a bygone age - British India in the 1920s

This sent me into my family history files....

                    Scene by a riverbank

                    A market

                    Crowd scene with elephants

                    Crowd scene with sacred cows

Temples (must be near Madras) - possibly "Chedumbram" or similar, can't quite read the annotation

                    In the hills

                    Memsahibs watch while servants prepare

I never was really satisfied with my earlier panorama of Ullswater, so here's a second attempt, this time from Gowbarrow Fell.
