as I said, too big to fail...remember?
Certainly far too important to fail ... so the money HAD to be spent on keeping the banks afloat and not handing out borrowed money as freebies to the population of a virtually bankrupt country?

Primary school economics, I'd have thought ...

I rest my case...where is the neo cons much loved "Moral hazard " when you really need it?

( this country is, and never has been, virtually bankrupt. It is, by ANY world measure, very wealthy. Problem is too much wealth in too few hands.)

Well, yes, I'd like a bit of it as well but this 'wealth' is a mirage as it's largely built on colossol debt and has not been earned. Robbing the 'wealthy' debtors to subsidise the 'poor' debtors won't help anyone in the long run.

        Roll on the revolution!

Well the trains are still in 'our' hands but undoubtedly the situation is hazardous though I've long learned that one person's idea of morality can be quite different from another's!

Never mind ... a man's a man for a' that ... ( even feminists might well agree with me on that?!!)

                  Rubbish
Why should we all support crap business ?
If I make a mistake in mine no one will "bail me out" but i'm supposed to fund a load of overpaid twats?

Instead of giving money to them just think what other people might have done with it?
Give me £1000 and i'll commission mr Hinton to write a string quartet
                  or
make it possible for my friend with MS to get into her kitchen (and employ a builder to do the work)

If there's one good thing to come out of the demise of this part of the forum, it's that we won't have Mr Tipps' posts cluttering up the place - I've never seen him post anywhere else.

                    So,

                    Goodbye Mr Tipps.

                      So,

                      Goodbye Mr Tipps.
And The Compliments of the Season to you too, Flosshilde... you have always been my dearly-loved and much-cherished favourite here, however visually-challenged you appear to be!

Succinctly put as ever, Mr GongGong ....

Wasn't his quintet quite enough to satisfy any chamber music fetishist, Mr GongGong?

Now you're talking, MrGongGong ... but can't you somehow find that £1000 yourself?
