PM notifications

Is there a setting (either at admin or user level) in this forum to set or unset notifications of PMs by email?

I thought that there was generally notification if another user sent a PM, with a private email to one's registered email account, but recently I wonder if that was never a feature, or if it was, but has now been switched off, either centrally, or inadvertently (in my case) by the user.

If this is a feature, then if used sensibly, it shouldn't generally be necessary to put up postings advising other users if one has sent them a PM.

Try settings (top of page) -> General Settings (under 'My Settings' in sidebar) - there should be an option to receive email notification of new PMs about 1/3 of the way down the page.
