One has to have listened to all of them to make a balanced judgement, though...

Great idea, Jayne, but could we please dump the US spelling?

My thoughts too, but one can make a reasoned choice based on personal listening choices.

In the (newly added) “best choral concert” category, I’d put the recent Bach St Matthew Passion at the top, though it would be a tough choice, with the JEG Prom running neck and neck.

Well that disqualifies more than a few then! …and I’d add the Biggest Turkey as another category - the dreadful Mozart Last 3 gets my vote for that. Best concert has to be the Halle concert.

At this stage of my life I only do ‘Subjective’ - that’s what fires my musical passion!

I haven’t heard every concert this year, but from the ones I heard or watched, my votes would go to:

                            Best Symphonic Performance:
Korngold Symphony in F; Sinfonia of London, Wilson

                            Best Concerto:
Beethoven Piano Concerto No 4; Ben Grosvenor with the Halle, Elder
With an honorable mention for Florence Price Piano Concerto in One Movement; Jeneba Kanneh-Mason with Chineke Orchestra, Bovell

                            Best choral:
Handel and Bach choral works with the Monteverdi Choir and JEG celebrating his 60th performance at the Proms

                            Best programme planning:
Stravinsky with the LSO and Simon Rattle

                            Best Concert:
Chin, Beethoven and Saint-Saens with the Halle, Grosvenor, Lapwood and Elder. A traditional programme, but who cares when it is played as well as this.

A special mention as well for the creation of the Proms Festival Orchestra to celebrate the contribution of freelance musicians after so many have lost work as a result of the pandemic. The concert itself may not have reached the heights of some others, but it was still a wonderful contribution to this season.
"I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."
Lady Bracknell The importance of Being Earnest
