      Friday 25 January

Violin and harpsichord music from Handel's London

Sonatas by William Babell, and Henry Eccles with music by Nicola Matteis. John Shea presents.

This looks more than suspiciously like the same concert as last Sunday’s Early Music Late.

I am very happy to see (and hear) these works on Radio3 but surely there are other concerts?

This was broadcast not so long ago. It is good to hear it again but there have been rather a lot of repeat lately and repeat from other programmes too. Is the supply getting short for some reasons?

An hour of Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki (1665-1734) last night

followed by Panufnik and Karol Szymanowski; with Jonathan navigating Polish prounuciation seemingly effortlessly.

              All very TTN and satisfying....

Gregorsh Gervashy Gorshinski, I would suppose the equivalent English pronunciation to be. We had a Polish couple living in this block of flats until recently - they were very particular about correct pronunciation - Lutoswafski.

Thank you for this. I am listening now and very much enjoying it. What would we do without TTN?

I don’t think the Handel concert on Monday is a repeat. Nuria Rial has a lovely voice.
