"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Would that be one of the shops on the other side of the main road from a rather splendid Whisky shop? Quite a few happy memories from a holiday around those parts in 2011

After all the blasts about Oxfam's pricing, a small voice from the SW with a better experience. Perfect condition CD for £2.99 in Exeter Oxfam, CHAN 9805, German Wind Band Classics, RNCofM Wind Orch/ Reynish and Rundell - Hindemith, Toch, Schoenberg, Blacher & Hartmann. Not often you see one of those

Anyone else ever captured this disc in a charity shop???
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

            That's the one!

Actually, I should say that I've had a lot of great cds from Oxfam. I just wish there was so consistency in their pricing policy.

Popped into my local Oxfam this morning and picked up Mendelssohn's string symphonies vol. 4 on BIS. Lev Markiz with the New Sinfonietta, Amsterdam for 99p. Box in terrible state but inserts and disc fine. New plastic box and, voilà, good as new!

Also, Mr Peter Katin playing Schumann on Olympia for £2.99.

I did think of others, and left a few, including three different CDs of Dvorak Slavonic Dances and the Bryn Terfel.

There seems to be a law that every charity shop's cd section HAS to include a Bryn Terfel cd. Oh, and the Philips 'Imtroducing the Mozart Edition' disc!

Yes, I wondered where the latter was. (I think it's another EU directive.)

It must have fallen down the back somewhere.

What about the Gramophone samplers and conductor interview discs? (usually overpriced - actually they're overpriced at any price)
