    Bravo bravo!

Yes - so CASTLE from Windsor Blue cheese

    - Bluebeard's CASTLE by Bartok
    - The Old CASTLE from Pictures etc by Mussorgsky
    - The Windsor CASTLE Overture by Haydn

I reckon RM gets it - although didn't mercia have a D on the stocks already?

I'll leave it to you gents to sort it out and hang up my 'Flay' alter-ego gown (or should that be white coat?), with this tribute to the ineffable RR who must be up there, hosting infinite angelic quiz-shows even as we speak:

Splendid! (Truly awful title sequence though )
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Oh ok - I misremembered. I thought Flay's duplicate C had replaced it. Shall we wait for he of the Resurrection then?

A D to link Nell, Genevieve and a carefree girl.

Ah as freshly-minted as if it were yesterday. Those spex! And that comb-over! And really, wasn't that a radio programme?

Truly awful titles I agree, Caliban and bl**dy Scott Joplin

I love the cheesy 'dog barking' prop, sent up by RR with the immortal "Eric's been practising all week"

I need more 'Ask the Family' - the weekend will feature an in-depth Youtube trawl.

Meantime: no joy with RM's puzzle. 'Genevieve' of course sends one to the film... music Larry Adler...

Dinah Sheridan is the only D I can find. Any good? I suspect not.

Maybe you're not hearing the right accent ?

Are you saying you should have spelt it Geneviève?

If I had done that then it would have been too easy! But your spelling is correct.

So, accented, would it be Geneviève de Brabant or even Geneviève Bujold? Is the Nell referring to Nell Gwyn?

Yes, but characters involved could give a D? (No idea what D of course!) Like Nell Gwyn could give a Dorothy or a Drury ........ just thinking aloud!
