When I set puzzles I like to tell people
whether or not all elements are musical
whether or not all elements begin with the key letter.

Without that information I know that people will be swimming up the wrong creeks.

It's been very quite a round here this week. Has everyone been out and about in the summer rain, like me ?

The much-heralded sunshine and heat has not materialised here. Looks like it's going to a BBC case of what a wonderful summer we have had in Britain this year (usually just because it has been good in London).
Good points well put I reckon, Angle.

The much-heralded sunshine has been around in London for about the last hour and very welcome it is too. I thought that a lot of the BBC's output came from Manchester and Cardiff now

      Angle

I believe you have the L, as you mentioned Kaleidoscope first.

Re Tiffany Wong - she's too young to run the music school in Singapore - she's probably 15 now, but her aunt Rosy Chua does, and wrote a piece called Kaleidoscope which Tiffany plays on YouTube.
I think she runs the Prelude Music Studio.

I agree that Shura Cherkassky is/was much better. I saw him once - brilliant, though a bit of the piano fell off when he was playing! Fortunately someone in the audience knew how to fix it.

Janet Bordeaux wrote a solo flute piece called Kaleidoscope - as also did Miklos Rozsa.

I'm sorry that Kaleidoscope isn't a musical term.

I don't think the final alphabetical answer-word has to be a musical term (does it!?!) - many haven't been

in fact the majority haven't been

You are right Mercia and I do not think really that L is mine - you did all the work!

Beset by a summer cold, I shall now go to blow my nose and hope to find L on my return.

sorry to hear about your cold Angle. how miserable-making.
are you sure you don't want to put a question?
            I don't mind either way

far be it for me to hold things up. then again, what's the hurry? etc. etc. etc.

              an L to connect

              - a fable-tableau
              - Sir Mike in Senegal
              - one of Arnie's five
              - Rothbart wingless

the L is not a musical term
those four clues/elements are all musical

                Arnie = Arnold
                Sir Mike = Sir Michael
                Rothbart = von Rothbart
                goodnight

                      Two of them helped.

Did you notice when I edited my answers ? I was having an almost sleepless night - until about six o'clock.

I shall have M in a few minutes, I hope.

                        What dead M connects

                        A singer/songwriter from Sydney with 1926 and 1951
                        Covent Garden in 1837
A dream maker and a heart breaker ?

                        Each element is a title.

Element 3 sounds like Moon River, made famous by Johnny Mathis

Is element 2 anything to do with Charles Dickens?

the only thing that keeps coming up when I google Covent Garden 1837 is about an actor John Macready introducing or making use of limelight for the first time

Sorry, Am, it is not anything to do with Dickens but it is good to see you back. Mercia and Dave have been doing exemplary service over the last week, We need three and fourpence"!

You are absolutely right about Moon River.
