Smiley Lewis recorded the song a couple of years earlier, Padraig - much more of a rhythm and Blues feel to it.

Then Fats took the song and did what only Fats could. I often think he was a much underrated performer and didn't get the attention of others because he seems to have been just an ordinary guy. Here he is from a long time back in a Channel 4 programme where a youthful Jools Holland went on a trip to the Big Easy and met his hero.
