    that may count as praise.

It's that time of year again (almost exactly a year in fact for this thread) when NL makes a decent fist of an LJ episode.
Sounds as if he's discovered other genres during that time - some quite reasonable and worthwhile toons - e.g.
Abelardo Carbonó y Su Conjunto, Laraaji (bit of yer actual EnoAmbience), Chick Corea & Gary Burton (reminded me to listen to more of their stuff),

        Fingers crossed for Weds...

Nick seems to be improving - may be he is tuning in to his potential audience on R3.

I like Gideon Coe...he's in sharing a few tunes with Mr Luscombe this evening. Looking forward to hearing what he plays.

                  Björk - absolutely brilliant

Wouldn't regard her as a rock artist. Uncategorisable musician and multi-media artist.

May be she belongs in the Hear and Now section.

I thought she was a lot of fun, Vespare, and some crackin' tunes in there, I thought.

I quite enjoyed the Man v Computer Late Junction Collaboration session from Thursday evening though not sure who won. Thought I'd mention it.

Tomorrow, Verity's got Robert Wyatt down the line for a bit of musical choice. Good combination last time they got some tunes together I seem to recall, even on a dreary Monday morning.

                        .
I enjoyed Nick Luscombe's programmes last week, emphasizing experimental music currently being composed and performed.

There seems to be a whole range of "intellectuality" present in experimental or contemporary music, ranging from "Algoraver" to the highbrow Hear and Now. I guess it's desirable to find one's own level for musical enjoyment.

Maybe, just maybe, he'll be featured....

Seriously though, Thanks Vespare and JC you have intrigued me, I will give him (yet) another chance...

Nick Luscombe (who seems to be an expert in this area) and R3 are excelling themselves with this season of Japanese music. Congrats due all-round!

NL is definitely at his best with this, as well as his expertise he has a barely supressed passion which comes across - I'd be quite happy for him to do a year long investigation into the music of Japan, other cities, out into the country, the past, the present, the future; but of course the BBC will rush past to the next novelty.
Better enjoy whilst we can... gomen'nasai
