          Arnold Schoenberg. String Quartets.

Lasalle Quartet. (With Margaret Price, op. 10)

This was a 4 cd DG set I found in the Salvation Army shop for £2.99 today. Alas, it's missing its booklet but still great value.

Since it's 340 pages, I'm not inclined to offer to copy mine and send it to you, I'm afraid.

Still a bargain, as you say.

              Listening to my scores 164:

              Vaughan Williams:
Symphony No 6 in E minor - study score
An Oxford Elegy - vocal score
The Sons of Light - vocal score
I was able to see a score on the 6th Symphony recently.
I couldn't possibly follow it while listening such is the effect of the music.
Just seeing the printed notes sent a shiver down my spine

It is certainly a deeply disturbing work ER as well as being tautly constructed. The genius of RVW as a symphonist for me is his ability to balance the intense emotional impact whilst maintaining absolute total control of the musical substance & structure.

Would I save this or the 9th Symphony from the house fire if I could only grab one ?
                              Probably PP.
